September 27, 2010 : Welcome To The Profession Ceremony, Class of 2014

Over 300 people including School of Pharmacy students, faculty, staff, family, and friends gathered in Hogness Auditorium on Monday 9/27/10 for the annual Welcome to the Profession Ceremony. New pharmacy students donned their white coats and recited their class pledge.

The Unified Professional Pharmacy Organizations of Washington was formed in 1998 as the UW School of Pharmacy’s own professional pharmacy student organization. UPPOW is directly affiliated with the following state, national, and international professional pharmacy associations:

APhA-ASP: American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists

ASHP: American Society of Health-System Pharmacists

IPSF: International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation

NCPA: National Community Pharmacists’ Association

WSPA: Washington State Pharmacy Association

These organizations represent all areas of pharmacy practice and influence global, national, and state policies that concern our profession. By combining all of the above organizations into UPPOW, we strengthen our profession into a more powerful voice.

UPPOW is a student-run organization with the goal of preparing students for pharmacy practice. Joining professional organizations as students gets you involved at the beginning of your profession, and enables you to sample all aspects of pharmacy.
